Anaheim Stadium: Home of the California Angels
The thing that will always amaze me, from a sports architecture standpoint, is the multiple faces of Anaheim/Angel Stadium. When it opened, it was a baseball-only park, very very similar to Dodger Stadium nearby…

Then the Rams moved in, and—just like when the 49ers moved to Candlestick Park a decade earlier—the stadium was enclosed completely, to the chagrin of many of the baseball fans…

But while the Giants ended up moving into their own ballpark in 2000, the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995, and when Disney took over the Angels the next year, one of the first things they did was get rid of all of those football seats—and freshen the place up just a smidge…
